P63,000!

More than a week after my marathon and yet pledges are still coming in. The current total now is about P63,000! This is the largest amount of after-the-fact pledges I have received in all marathons I have run so far, and I have my family and friends to thank for this.

I am still trying to set up a Paypal account so some of my friends abroad can send their pledges in more easily. If that happens, the total amount raised for charity patients in the PGH could still go up. Once again, my deepest gratitude to everyone for the incredible support! 🙂

I can’t believe how much support I have gotten so far in a very short period of time. In just two days, I have gotten pledges in the amount of P36,018.77. (if I finish, of course). And with several time-based pledges, if I finish in the same time as I did last year, this goes up to almost P40,000. I’m not even counting the people who said they will donate but have not specified an amount yet.

I have a few days left before the run itself and with all the encouragement from my family and friends, I am getting quite excited. I’m sure I’ll be utterly exhausted after my run, but with the amount of money I will raise and the idea that so many patients in PGH will benefit, it will all be worth it. 🙂

I’m really pleased that despite everything being so last minute, a lot of pledges have already been made. So far, if I finish the marathon, I will raise P14,573.84.

To add to this, I have some friends who are basing their pledge value on the amount of time it takes for me to finish. If I complete the run in about the same time as I did last year, the total pledges could go up to more than P17,000. Hopefully pledges continue to come in over the next few days (and maybe even after my run). Thanks to everyone who have already pledged! 🙂

Quite a few more pledges have come in:

If I finish the marathon, I will raise a total of PHP44,790.90! 7 people who have committed to a donation but haven’t specified the amount so I may be close to my target P50,000, if I haven’t surpassed it already.

Pledges as of June 24

I only started getting pledges from people late last week so I’m very pleased at how many pledges I have already gotten from friends:

Pledge total: PHP190 per kilometer
Fixed donation total: PHP13,700 and USD80
Finishing bonus: PHP160 and SGD100

So if I finish the marathon, I will raise a total of PHP29,010.90! although I do have 7 people who have committed to a donation but haven’t specified the amount yet so this could actually be higher.

Considering that people are tightening their belts right now due to the global financial crisis, I am very pleased at how much money has been pledged in less than a week. I am still hoping to meet my target amount of PHP50,000 so hopefully more people make pledges.

If I complete the marathon, I will raise a total of P48,929.42.

If I beat my personal best, I will raise a total of P49,729.42.

So almost fifty thousand pesos if i complete the marathon and beat my personal best. And there are ten other people who informed me that they will be donating but they haven’t specified the amount yet, so this figure will definitely go higher. One more week and I can still hit my target of P70,000 worth of donations to the PGH IM wards.

Several more people emailed in their pledges. Here’s what we have so far:

• pledges amounting to P309.14 per kilometer
• donations amounting to PHP15,352.29
• bonuses amounting to PHP7,328.69 if I finish
• P500 for beating my personal best
• bonus of US$1 per second of me beating my personal best (although I’m confirming if this is really US$1 per second or if my pledger meant per minute)
• bonus of P84 for running below 4 hours 30 seconds

If I beat my personal best, I will raise a total of P36,164.73! And in the unlikely scenario that I run under 4:30, the total will be P36,248.73. Wow!

This amount will certainly help a lot of patients in the PGH. And with large bonuses for finishing and beating my personal best, I am definitely more inspired to do better now. Hopefully I can deliver.
